“The car hesitates when you push the gas, and then will suddenly go with a jolt. That is unsafe as you are turning on to road and when you push the gas-you do not move for a few seconds which could cause an accident. Engine: The coolant goes low, and the dealership says it needs a new head gasket replaced, however, was told to continue to drive the car until the part comes in which is on back order for months. Electrical: Lights come on telling me that my tire is low, when tire is not low. My oil light came on saying to reduce the oil level. Dealership just turned the light off and called it good. I worry that something is wrong, but the car does not give accurate safe information.
“I purchase a 2022 VW Taos in February of 2022. Right after I purchase I got a coolant warning light. Took it to dealer and they added coolant. This stated happening a couple of time with the same fix by dealer. In March of 2023 they tested the cooling system and found nothing wrong and said the reason the car was loosing coolant was because the cap was not installed correctly and the coolant evaporated. The car still continues to loose coolant. Took the car back a few more times again the same fix, add coolant. Last week the check engine light came on and took the car to dealer. Now they tell me the car needs a new head cover gasket and since I have 58,000 miles it is no longer under warranty.”
“I purchased a 2022 VW Taos for my daughter in July, 2021. In August 2021 I received a recall notice that told me to take my vehicle to the dealer immediately. The dealer informed me that I had a leaking fuel line, and the the vehicle was too dangerous to drive since leaking fuel could cause it to explode at any moment. The dealer impounded my car, and after 2 weeks is still waiting for the parts to repair it. Evidently the parts are coming from China, and no one knows when they will arrive. No loaner or rental car was offered. So I am now paying $300/month for a car that I do not have. It is very unsettling to think that I put my daughter in a car that according to the dealer’s service manager, could explode at any moment.”
