2023 Buick Envision Electrical System Problems
One of the most common electrical system problems in the 2023 Buick Envision is battery drain. Some owners have experienced unexpected battery drain, which leads to multiple electrical malfunctions.
These can include issues with the brakes, ABS light, transmission light, collision warning system, check engine light, and steering wheel light, all of which can compromise the vehicle’s safety and performance.
Another significant issue reported by owners is the loss of power while driving. In these cases, the vehicle unexpectedly loses motive power and fails to restart.
This issue has been linked to the ABS control module, indicating a potential electrical fault that may require attention from a professional mechanic.
Problems with the infotainment system have also been noted, including unresponsive screens and connectivity issues.
These issues can lead to frustration while using navigation, entertainment, or communication features, reducing the overall user experience.
If you’re experiencing any of these electrical system problems, it’s a good idea to contact your dealer for assistance or have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic.
Additionally, the 2023 Buick Envision is involved in a recall related to daytime running lights (DRLs) that may not deactivate as intended. This issue could cause glare, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. T
he recall, identified by NHTSA Campaign Number 22V-903, affects vehicles from 2020 to 2023, including the Buick Envision, and is linked to a software malfunction in the body control module.
The remedy for this recall involves updating the software via a dealer visit or an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owners can contact GM customer service at 1-888-988-7267 for more information.
2023 Buick Envision Service Brakes Problems
The 2023 Buick Envision may be prone to several brake-related issues that could affect both performnce and safety.
One of the most serious problems is brake failure. In these cases, the brake pedal may sink closer to the floor, causing the vehicle to fail to slow down as expected.
This issue is particularly dangerous, as it can drastically reduce the driver’s control over the vehicle.
Another common issue is brake lock-up while driving. In some instances, the brakes may lock up unexpectedly, triggering a range of warning lights on the dashboard.
These can include the ABS light, transmission light, collision warning light, check engine light, and the steering wheel light.
This problem can leave the driver with limited braking control and signals a need for immediate attention.
Additionally, some owners have reported issues with the hydraulic system of the brakes. These hydraulic problems can significantly affect braking performance, reducing overall efficiency and reliability.
If you’re experiencing any of these issues, it’s essential to reach out to your dealer or a qualified mechanic as soon as possible to ensure the safety and proper functioning of your vehicle.
2023 Buick Envision Engine Problems
Among the most concerning engine-related issues in the 2023 Buick Envision is engine stalling. Some owners have reported that the engine unexpectedly stalls while driving, which can create a significant safety hazard by leaving the vehicle without power at critical moments.
Another common problem is rough idling. Drivers have noted that the engine idles roughly, which can lead to a less smooth driving experience, making the vehicle feel less responsive and comfortable while at a stop or in low-speed conditions.
Issues with vehicle speed control have also been reported. In these cases, the car does not accelerate or decelerate as expected, leading to difficulties in maintaining a consistent speed and controlling the vehicle’s responsiveness.
If you are experiencing any of these engine problems, it is crucial to get your vehicle checked by a professional mechanic or contact your dealer for further assistance to ensure safe operation.
2023 Buick Envision Backover Protection Problems
The 2023 Buick Envision may have issues with its backover protection system, which could potentially impact safety.
One of the primary concerns is a malfunctioning rearview camera. Some owners have reported that the camera intermittently provides a distorted or blank image, making it difficult to accurately see behind the vehicle.
Another issue involves the parking sensors, which some drivers have found to be inaccurate in detecting obstacles.
This can lead to potential safety risks, especially when reversing or parking in tight spaces where obstacles may not be immediately visible.
Additionally, a few owners have experienced problems with the backover warning system. In these cases, the system fails to alert the driver of objects or people behind the vehicle, leaving the driver unaware of potential hazards.
If you’re experiencing any of these issues, it’s important to have your vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic or contact your dealer for assistance to ensure the backover protection system is functioning properly.

Experiences from Buick Envision Owners
“Purchase with 20 miles listed from dealer 2023 Envision. Approximately 1 month after purchase, a flapping noise noted to the passenger side between front and rear door. Only occurs over 65 mph on highway. Took to dealer for inspection…said it was my car tag… NO IT IS STILL OCCURRING! Need help in finding this problem .”
“The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brakes failed to immediately activate while depressing the brake pedal. The contact attempted to steer the vehicle to prevent crashing into the vehicle in front and became aware that the vehicle had lost power steering functionality. The contact had to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard for the vehicle to come to a stop. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake module had failed; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the steering failure.”
“By the middle of April 2024, the car had rust showing through the paint all over the rear of the car. The rear view camera does not work while in reverse intermittently. The forward collision alarm is turned off because it scares me when it comes on and it still comes in intermittently even when another car is nowhere around. Intermittently, the car temperature heat and cooling does not work but blows out ice cold air or whatever temperature the outside air is. The car was placed in the care of the dealership to address all of these issues. The rust was addressed and they found nothing wrong with the car otherwise. The drive home after retrieving the car from the dealership repair shop brought about more issues with the first being the radio system.”
