2023 Chevy Trailblazer Engine Problems

The 2023 Chevy Trailblazer has faced multiple complaints from owners regarding engine performance and reliability.

Many drivers have expressed frustration with the three-cylinder base engine, which is often described as underpowered, struggling to deliver adequate acceleration and making highway passing maneuvers challenging.

Some owners have also reported ignition problems, experiencing difficulty starting the engine. These issues could stem from malfunctions within the ignition system.

Additionally, there have been instances of knocking sounds coming from the engine, which understandably raises concerns about potential mechanical problems.

If you’re experiencing any of these issues, it’s important to consult a qualified mechanic or reach out to your dealership for assistance.

2023 Chevy Trailblazer Forward Collision Avoidance System Problems

The Forward Collision Avoidance System in the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer has also been a source of concern for some owners.

Reports indicate that the system occasionally causes the vehicle to stop unexpectedly, leading to a sudden loss of control and creating potential safety hazards. In some cases, the system has become completely inoperable, requiring a module reset to restore functionality.

Problems with the automatic emergency braking feature have also been noted, which poses a significant safety risk for drivers and passengers.

If you’ve encountered similar issues, visiting your dealership for a thorough inspection is highly recommended to address these concerns.

2023 Chevy Trailblazer Electrical System Problems

Electrical system problems have been another area of frustration for owners of the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer. Some drivers have experienced an issue where the cruise control causes the vehicle to bog down or feel as if it might stall, often accompanied by transmission slippage.

The infotainment system has also been problematic, with complaints of the radio failing to recognize connected phones, freezing during use, or shutting off unexpectedly while driving.

Backup cameras have been reported to malfunction as well, displaying incorrect distances. Additionally, some owners have noted problems with the ignition button failing to turn off properly and connectivity issues when attempting to pair smartphones.

If you’re dealing with any of these challenges, seeking assistance from a professional or your dealership can help ensure your vehicle’s systems are functioning correctly.

2023 Trailblazer Complaints

  1. NHTSA Complaint

“While driving 65-70 MPH cruise control will continuously “bog” down and act like it is wanting to cut off the whole vehicle. transmission is starting to act like it is slipping to the point where I am going all the way to the steering wheel before it catches again. Vehicle is under 36,000 miles and should not be having transmission issues. Radio has been replaced once before but is now doing the same thing where it is not recognizing my phone, directions given to it by touch on screen, and will even completely turn off while in the middle of driving. Will freeze and then act like the screen has ‘water’ damage. back up camera is not calibrated correctly. It states that I have more than enough room to make a turn but when looking into my mirrors, it is off by almost a foot and a half. I was in a car accident due to the back up camera malfunction with the difference in distance and with the screen malfunctioning.”

“The brakes have been making a loud squeeling when I slow down. This has occurred since I bought the vehicle. The dealership has reviewed it multiple times and state they do not know what is causing it or how to fix it. The last time the tech stated there is nothing they can do. Now the brakes aren’t performing as well as they did and it is concerning.”

“I bought a 2023 chevy trailblazer in the beginning of October 2022. In December the first engine blew up. In February the 2nd engine blew up. Waited 60 days and never got reimbursed for car payment or anything from GM. They’re a pain to deal with and now the 2nd engine is burning oil and a cam sensor went out with only 2500 miles on this motor. DO NOT BUY!!!”
