2025 Chevrolet Equinox Visibility Issues

Visibility issues are some of the most dangerous issues for a vehicle to have because they impact the driver’s ability to see the road ahead of them and react properly to the things on it.

For the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, visibility issues were by far the most common type of problem. The dashboard of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, according to complaints, is very shiny and results in an aggressive glare when overhead lighting is present.

Consumers reported this glare occurring both during the day, when sunlight hits the dashboard, as well as during the night, when driving underneath street lamps.

Owners of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox expressed concerns over not being able to see the road ahead of them, creating risks for others on the road.

2025 Chevrolet Equinox Electrical System Problems

Electrical systems issues are a broad category of problem because there are many, many electrical systems running throughout a vehicle and they each perform different functions.

For the 2025 Chevy Equinox specifically, consumers mentioned their warning lights on the instrument panel going on when there were seemingly no problems actually occurring.

Faulty warning lights can potentially confuse the driver and pose a danger that way. Consumers otherwise reported electrical problems with the charging system of the car: the vehicles would either not charge properly or lose its charge rapidly after being unplugged.

Both of these issues could result in the vehicle not operating properly on the road, leading to danger for the driver or others.

2025 Chevrolet Equinox Collision Avoidance System Problems

Collision avoidance systems include cruise control and automatic braking; things that help the driver operate the vehicle safely through systems that assist in braking or decelerating.

These systems, like electrical systems, are complex and can be susceptible to malfunctioning. Consumers reported things like phantom braking and a lack of any braking, two sides of the same dangerous coin.

Phantom braking takes place when the car’s sensors detect something in front of the vehicle that is not actually there, or is not worth braking for.

Rain or water on the sensor, for example, can cause phantom braking because the sensor thinks something is in front of the car.

On the other hand, consumers also reported their sensors failing during cruise control use and not braking when they should have. Both of these problems can be dangerous and result in accidents on the road.

What 2025 Chevy Equinox Owners Say

“There is a glare in the windshield from the dash. During the day when the sun hits it I have a hard time seeing pedestrians, bicyclists and small animals. Any smaller (less than an average car) sized things are distorted and hard to see. I’ve tried using the visor and it doesn’t help. I’m worried it may cause me to injure somebody or something.”

“Five times since I bought the new car in November 2025, the car has suddenly slammed on the brakes. It has always been under 5 miles per hour, but it has always been total stoppage, like someone hit me from behind. I think I figured out that the emergency braking system gets nervous when objects are close, and when I touched the brake with my foot the emergency braking system would freak out and slam the brakes. I talked to a person who had an electric Volvo who said the slamming of the brakes freaked him out, too. I finally went into the Settings and turned off the emergency braking system (but left on the warning.) I’ve not had the experience, since.”

“Occasionally after indicating and making a right turn, the turn signal stalk will snap back far enough to cause the left turn signal to be enabled for three flashes (i.e. “lane change” mode). This has happened to me at least a dozen times since I’ve owned this car, and as far as I can tell, only happens after right turns.”

2025 Chevy Equinox Recalls

In addition to the problems consumers have reported, Chevrolet has also identified 3 problems they deemed worthy of a recall.

These three problems are doors opening unexpectedly, the pedestrian warning sound being too quiet, and the adaptive cruise control failing to activate the brakes when needed.

The recalls were announced in October 2024, December 2024, and January 2025 respectively. In all recalls, Chevrolet has found a remedy that will be provided free of charge to impacted consumers.

The campaign numbers for these recalls, in the order they were listed, are 24V737000, 24V925000, and 25V012000.

Your Vehicle’s Lemon Law Journey

Lemon laws are laws in almost every state that help consumers receive compensation when they purchase a defective car, also known as a lemon vehicle.

Whether or not your vehicle is eligible to be considered a lemon depends mainly on the number of warranty repair attempts that have been made and/or the number of days out of service related to warranty repairs.

When you discover a defect in your car, you should take it in to an authorized manufacturer dealership to be repaired.

Unfortunately, repairs don’t always work the first—or even second—time. If the same issue continues to resurface despite repeat warranty repairs attempts to fix it, you may be dealing with a lemon.

In that case, you could be eligible for compensation under your state’s lemon law. Lemon laws are designed to safeguard consumers who end up with defective vehicles that manufacturers are unable to repair within a reasonable number of repair attempts or where the vehicle is out of service for an extended number of days due to warranty defects.

The core of any lemon law case is the repair history: if a defect significantly impairs the car’s safety, value, or usability and has been subject to a reasonable number of repair attempts, the vehicle may be a lemon and the consumer may be entitled to a repurchase, replacement vehicle or cash compensation.

Additionally, if your car has been out of service for 30 days or more due to repairs—regardless of how many repair attempts were made—it may also qualify under lemon law standards.

Once a vehicle is deemed a lemon, the consumer typically has two options: negotiate a settlement with the manufacturer or pursue legal action under the state’s lemon law.

At this point, having a seasoned lemon law attorney on your side can make a world of difference. A lawyer can help you manage deadlines, keep documentation organized, and present a strong case to ensure you get the outcome you deserve.

If your claim is successful, the manufacturer is required to offer you either a refund or a replacement vehicle. Refunds usually cover everything you spent on the car, including taxes, fees, and even interest.

In some cases, you may also be reimbursed for extra costs like registration fees or rental cars used during repair periods. An attorney can often help secure a more complete and fair refund.

If the manufacturer opts to give you a replacement instead, it will generally be a vehicle of similar value, make, and model as the replaced lemon vehicle.

Typically with a lemon law repurchase or replacement, the manufacturer is also obligated to pay for the consumer’s reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs.

This makes pursuing a lemon law claim an easy financial decision for consumers as there should be no out of pocket expense for the consumer for the legal representation.

Unhappy with Repair Attempts? Call the Experts

While state lemon laws provide strong protections for buyers of defective vehicles still under warranty, those protections only work if you take action.

Without filing a claim, you won’t be eligible for the compensation you’re entitled to. And when you do take that step, know that automakers are usually backed by seasoned legal teams ready to challenge your case.

To give yourself the best chance at a successful outcome, it’s crucial to have experienced legal representation on your side.

That’s where the Lemon Law Experts come in—our team is dedicated to helping consumers like you recover what they’re owed for being sold a faulty vehicle.
