Common problems: According to consumers across platforms, the most common problems with the 2025 Honda HR-V include steering issues and structural problems.
Not too many complaints have been created for the 2025 Honda HR-V, likely because the vehicle is still fairly new.

2025 Honda HR-V Steering Issues
Steering issues are often a serious safety hazard. Problems like difficulty turning the wheel, unresponsive steering, drifting, or strange noises while steering can compromise your ability to control the vehicle and increase the risk of accidents.
In the case of the 2025 Honda HR-V, consumers mentioned their steering being shaky and jittery as well as having difficulty turning the wheel.
Because of the ongoing recall related to the steering system, consumers also mentioned that they were unable to get their vehicle fixed because the parts were unavailable.
2025 Honda HR-V Structural Problems
Besides steering issues, consumers also mentioned structural issues with their vehicle. Specifically, a consumer mentioned their sunroof suddenly shattering despite nothing striking it.
Another consumer had a problem with the rear bumper of their vehicle wobbling, which could be a sign of structural weakness in the vehicle as a whole.
Because structural problems can create safety hazards for both drivers and others on the road (if, for example, something detaches from the vehicle), they should be taken seriously and addressed soon after they are discovered.
2025 Honda HR-V Steering Recall
Honda has issued one recall for the 2025 Honda HR-V which deals with the steering system many consumers complained about.
According to the recall, the steering box may have been manufactured in an improper way, resulting in internal friction that makes the vehicle difficult to steer.
As a remedy, Honda will replace the worm gear spring and add grease to the steering box if necessary. For owners of the 2025 Honda-HRV, notifications went out in November 2024.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Recall Number for this recall is 24V744000.

Honda HR-V Owner Complaints
“I contacted the dealer I purchased the car from on [XXX] Chapman Honda in Tucson Arizona, to schedule an appointment to complete the recall repair. I was told there was a shortage of parts available and I would be put on a waiting list and contacted when the part for my car was available and the work could be scheduled. That was over 60 days ago.”
“Improperly manufactured EPS gearbox worm wheel and improperly worm hear. Received notice via USPS. Only purchased car Augusta 2024. Local dealer doesn’t have the part in stock.”
“Its looks are deceiving. The LX model is very cheap. The engine is too small and very loud. The CVT transmission annoyingly sluggish. Ride is choppy. You’ll annoy every driver on the road with its noise and sluggish 0 to 60 in almost 11 seconds! not worth the savings on gas mileage.”
What Every Car Owner Should Know About the Lemon Law
When facing a persistent vehicle defect, the lemon law process offers a legal route for consumers to seek compensation.
It typically begins when an owner notices a recurring problem with their vehicle that interferes with its safe operation, functionality, or overall value.
The issue must arise while the vehicle is covered under the manufacturer’s original warranty, and the consumer is expected to promptly bring the vehicle to an authorized dealership for diagnosis and repair.
Each visit to the dealership should be documented carefully. Service records, written descriptions of the issue, and the dates of all repair attempts are crucial in building a strong case.
The manufacturer must be given a fair opportunity to fix the issue—this is known as the “reasonable number of repair attempts.”
If the defect has been subject to repeat warranty repairs or the vehicle spends an excessive amount of time in the shop, the car may qualify as a lemon under state law.
At this point, the consumer may pursue a legal claim. Many choose to work with a lemon law attorney who can handle communications with the manufacturer and guide the case through mediation, arbitration, or court if necessary.
An attorney can also determine whether the consumer qualifies for a full refund, a replacement vehicle, or a cash settlement, depending on the severity of the defect and the circumstances involved.
The lemon law process can seem intimidating at first, but it’s designed to protect consumers who purchase defective vehicles.
With proper documentation and legal support, many claims are resolved efficiently, helping vehicle owners recover their losses and move forward with confidence.
