2025 Lincoln Nautilus Forward Collision Avoidance System Problems
The forward collision avoidance system is a combination of sensors and computers that work together to create cruise control and automatic braking systems.
Drivers often rely on these systems to stop the vehicle if an obstacle appears suddenly or to keep the vehicle going at a constant speed while doing extended periods of freeway driving.
When these systems malfunction, there can be dangerous consequences for both the driver and others on the road.
In the case of the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, owners reported their forward collision avoidance systems reducing the speed of their cruise control and wandering out of lane.
Unexpected speed reductions or lane drifting can both be dangerous, and a vehicle showing signs of these problems should be taken in for inspection and repair as soon as reasonably possible.
2025 Lincoln Nautilus Electrical System Issues
Like forward collision avoidance systems, electrical systems are a combination of many different sensors and computers working together to control everything from the lights to the windows of a vehicle.
For the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, consumers reported experiencing problems with their sound systems, their infotainment systems, overnight battery drain, and their instrument cluster.
Electrical systems in vehicles generally provide a lot of information to the driver, and when they fail to function properly, it can result in significantly reduced information about the road and the vehicle’s surroundings.
Vehicles showing signs of electrical system problems should be inspected and repaired promptly.
2025 Lincoln Nautilus Recalls
Other than the complaints consumers have been raising, Lincoln has also identified some problematic aspects of the 2025 Nautilus that require manufacturer attention.
Below is a summary of each of the four recalls currently ongoing for the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus.
2025 Lincoln Nautilus Headlights Recall
This recall, announced August 8, 2025, concerns the headlights of the 2025 Nautilus which can fail due to a burnt diode.
Lincoln will inspect and replace these diodes free of charge if consumers bring their vehicle to a dealership. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Recall Campaign Number is 25V519000.
2025 Lincoln Nautilus Window Reversal System Recalls
Two recalls are out for the Nautilus’s window reversal system, which is supposed to engage when it detects an object in the way of the window closing.
When this system fails, the window can pinch whatever object is in its way and damage it. Two recalls have been issued for this problem, one in December 2024 and one in August 2025.
Lincoln will update the software for the driver and passenger door modules free of charge. The NHTSA Recall Campaign Numbers are 24V953000 and 25V518000 for the 2024 and 2025 recalls respectively.
2025 Lincoln Nautilus Block Heater Recall
The last currently ongoing recall concerns the engine block heater, which can overheat when the vehicle is in park and the heater is plugged in.
Lincoln will replace the heating element and inspect and replace the cord if necessary. This recall was announced in June 2025, and the NHTSA Recall Campaign Number is 25V343000.

Complaints from Lincoln Nautilus Owners
“Driving on the freeway, with nothing in front except road, the Bluecruise/adaptive cruise control suddenly started slowing the vehicle to 25 mph from 70 mph. This has happened 5 times. The fifth time, the lane keeping system and adaptive cruise quit working but did not give any warning on the lane keeping having stopped working. In town, adaptive cruise will vary between the local speed and 25 mph but there is no speed limit sign showing a change of speed. The vehicle was picked up today for repair.”
“I own a 2025 Lincoln Nautilus. While driving, the panoramic and center display went blank, failing to display critical safety information. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated.”
“While using the Ford BlueCruise system which is supposed to keep the vehicle centered in the lane along when it is in use on the highways it is programmed for, the system in this vehicle wanders throughout the lane from one side lane marker to the other lane marker. When first setting the cruise control which activates the lane assist program in this vehicle, it wants to initially justify to the left (drivers side) lane marker and fights any input from the driver to re-center the vehicle in the lane. If I let the system take the full control, after this initial left line hugging the vehicle will drift over towards the right side lane marker then go back towards the left lane marker and this continues until I deactivate the cruise control entirely when on a BlueCruise enabled highway.”
Key Legal Steps for Defective Vehicle Owners
Lemon laws exist to protect consumers who unknowingly purchase or lease defective vehicles. These laws recognize that buying a car is one of the most significant investments most people make, and when that vehicle fails to perform as promised, it can cause serious financial and personal hardship.
The purpose of lemon laws is to give consumers a clear path toward relief, often in the form of a refund, replacement vehicle, or monetary compensation, when their car suffers from repeated or unfixable issues within a certain period of time or mileage.
The process usually begins when a consumer notices persistent problems with their vehicle. These might involve the engine, transmission, brakes, electronics, or other critical systems that affect safety, use, or value.
After each warranty repair attempt, it is essential for the owner to keep detailed records of service visits, invoices, and communications with the dealership or manufacturer.
Most lemon laws require that the manufacturer or dealer be given a reasonable number of chances to repair the defect, which typically means several visits for the same problem or an extended period of time in the repair shop.
If the vehicle continues to have defects despite these repair attempts, the consumer may then qualify to file a lemon law claim.
This usually involves submitting documentation to the manufacturer and, if necessary, pursuing the matter through arbitration or litigation.
An experienced lemon law attorney can be a valuable resource during this stage, as they understand how to build a strong case and negotiate effectively with manufacturers that often resist claims.
Successful lemon law claims can result in significant relief for the consumer. Depending on the circumstances, the manufacturer may be required to repurchase the vehicle, replace it with a comparable model, or provide a cash settlement.
Ultimately, lemon laws serve as an important safeguard, ensuring that consumers are not left stuck with a vehicle that does not function as promised.
By enforcing accountability on manufacturers and providing remedies for buyers, these laws help restore confidence in the car-buying process and ensure that consumers are treated fairly when something goes wrong.
