Nissan Motor Co., announced the recall of approximately 20,000 Nissan Altimas, model years, 2011 and 2012. These Nissan Altimas were manufactured by Nissan at their plant located in Canton, Mississippi. This recall is to repair a steering problem which is caused by a transverse bolt which was not tightened o the proper specifications. This problem potentially could lead to driver having difficulty steering, which according to NHTSA could cause accidents. Nissan has stated that there have been no reported accidents due to this problem.

Nissan has announced that this recall will take place immediately and will be at no cost to the consumer. If you have purchased or lease a 2011 or 2012 Nissan Altima, take it into your local Nissan dealership immediately to address this problem.
