Harley-Davidson Inc. has recently announced that it is recalling all VRSCDX model bikes. The safety recall is to provide repairs for a defect that increases the likelihood of a crash.
The recall specifically affects all VRSCDX models from the 2012 model year, as well as some from the 2013 model year. Harley-Davidson stated that the reason for this latest recall is a defect affecting the license plate brackets, which causes them to loosen. Loose license plate brackets cause damage to the rear brake system, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.
Harley-Davidson is expected to commence the recall in early November 2012. Authorized dealerships will inspect and repair any affected motorcycles free of charge.
