This client started noticing issues with their new 2019 Infiniti QX60 at a little over 20,000 miles. They took their SUV in for repair when they noticed that the backup camera kept flickering and its display appeared to be off center. Upon inspection, the dealer discovered that the vehicle’s battery was leaking acid. The service provider also discovered that the vehicle’s left axle seal was leaking fluid. The left axle seal appeared to be distorted and was not sealing properly. The dealer replaced the battery, a negative terminal, and the left axle seal to correct these issues.

Our client took the Infiniti QX60 for additional repairs about two months after. They noticed other structural and electrical problems. The driver’s side front door lock began to work intermittently, and occasionally our client had to use a physical key to open it. They also noticed a squeaking noise from the door. The dealer discovered that the driver’s side door and fender were misaligned and decided to replace the drive door lock actuator.

The 2019 Infiniti Qx60 has been recalled twice for manufacturing issues similar to those that our client dealt with. In September 2019, Nissan recalled certain 2018-2019 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, including the Infiniti QX60. The backup camera display settings in these vehicles can be adjusted so that the rearview camera image is no longer visible, and the vehicle will maintain that setting next time it is placed in reverse. The first lemon issue our client experienced was a defective rearview camera display. In addition to rearview camera display problems, certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are prone to brake fluid leaks. In November 2019, Nissan recalled certain Nissan Murano, Maxima, Pathfinder, and Infiniti QX60 vehicles due to hydraulic leaks that can result in electrical shorts and increased risk of vehicle fire.
