KTM North America recently announced the recall over 6,000 of their off-road motorcycles. The recall was announced due to defective handlebars that can potentially slide out of their fixed positions thereby causing a crash.
Inspection of the potential lemon KTM bikes has revealed that the clamp that stabilizes the handlebar can end up cracking, which in turn causes the unit to slide of out of the fixed position and move.
KTM has reported at least one injury where a rider was hospitalized after a crash that resulted from the defective handlebar.
The recall affects all 2011 potential lemon KTM and Husaberg off-road motorcycles. If you have experienced problems with you potential lemon KTM motorcycle, and have taken it in for repair work, it is possible that you may have a lemon law claim and that you may be driving a lemon KTM.
