Lincoln has issued a recall for nearly 48,000 2024 and 2025 model year Nautilus SUVs due to a potential issue with the power windows.
In these vehicles, the automatic window reversal system may fail to function correctly, posing a risk of finger pinching injuries when the window encounters an obstruction.
Owners of affected vehicles are encouraged to contact their dealer to have the window settings recalibrated as part of the recall.
The recall affects 2024 and 2025 Lincoln Nautilus SUVs. The problem centers on the power window’s automatic reversal system, which may not respond as intended when an obstruction is detected, potentially leading to pinching injuries.
To address the issue, dealers will recalibrate the power window settings to ensure proper operation and safety.

What Causes the Lincoln Nautilus Power Window Problem?
The power window issue in the Lincoln Nautilus is primarily caused by a software malfunction in the driver and passenger door modules.
This glitch prevents the windows from automatically reversing when they encounter an obstruction, which can lead to a pinching hazard for vehicle occupants. This issue has prompted a recall for certain model year Nautilus vehicles.
The problem originates within the software code of the door modules, rather than a mechanical failure with the window itself.
The automatic window reversal system is designed to detect obstructions and reverse the window’s direction to prevent injuries.
However, in the affected vehicles, the system may fail to react properly, allowing the windows to apply excessive force before retracting.
The main concern is the potential for pinching injuries if the windows continue to close despite detecting an object.
This malfunction does not meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) for power-operated window systems, which require the windows to reverse direction to avoid harm.
To address this issue, Ford has issued a recall for the affected Nautilus vehicles. The recall involves recalibrating the driver and passenger door modules to ensure the automatic reversal system functions correctly, eliminating the risk of injury and bringing the vehicles into compliance with safety standards.
How Do I Know if My Lincoln Nautilus Is Affected?
The power window issue in the Lincoln Nautilus is caused by a software glitch in the driver and passenger door modules, preventing the automatic reversal system from functioning correctly.
This can lead to pinching injuries if an obstruction is detected while closing the window. To check if your vehicle is affected, look for a recall notice or verify your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) with your dealer.
The recall impacts 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus models built at the Changan Ford Hangzhou Assembly Plant, equipped with the affected Driver Door Module (DDM) and Passenger Door Module (PDM) produced between September 26, 2022, and November 21, 2024.
To confirm if your Lincoln Nautilus is included in the recall, follow these steps:
- Check the Model Year: The recall affects 2024 and 2025 Lincoln Nautilus SUVs.
- VIN Lookup: Use your VIN to check for recalls on the NHTSA website or Ford’s recall page.

The update will reprogram the window control system to ensure the windows correctly reverse when they encounter an obstruction, preventing potential pinching injuries.
This recall, issued by Ford—Lincoln’s parent company—affects certain 2024-2025 model year Nautilus SUVs.
Ford will recalibrate the door modules to ensure the automatic reversal system works as intended, preventing the windows from applying excessive force when an obstruction is detected.
Affected vehicle owners will receive notifications by mail, which are expected to be sent out by January 17, 2025. The recalibration will be performed free of charge at authorized Lincoln dealerships.
