In this case, owners of a brand-new 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan experienced electrical and braking issues with their vehicle that resulted in multiple repair visits. The car was purchased new with only 23 miles on the odometer in early 2022.

During their first repair visit on July 23, 2022, with the vehicle’s mileage at around 8,000, the customers reported an intermittent issue with the infotainment screen blacking out.

A second repair visit occurred in October 2022 with the vehicle’s mileage at around 11,500. The drivers complained that the car would unexpectedly brake while coasting at around 35 mph. They also experienced problems with the lane keep assist system disabling itself and the radio screen intermittently going black.

Unfortunately, the dealership was unable to identify any related faults and advised our clients to refer to the owner’s manual for system operation and limitations.

The same issue of the vehicle braking on its own persisted. Our clients took the vehicle in for repairs about one month following the second visit. The dealership once again couldn’t reproduce the problem, found no faults, and assured the customers that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.

Finally, the fourth and longest repair visit occurred between January 13, 2023, and March 17, 2023, well over 30 calendar days.  The owners reported that the car would unexpectedly brake and come to an abrupt stop when no other cars were around, nearly causing rear-end collisions.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issues with the dealership, the owners sought assistance from the Lemon Law Experts.

The Lemon Law Experts diligently represented the clients and achieved a favorable outcome. The resolution involved the repurchase of the defective vehicle and reimbursement of all incidental expenses incurred due to the lemon.  Volkswagen also paid all the clients’ attorney fees and costs.
