Chrysler has issued another recall this year. This time Chrysler’s recall affects the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler 200, Dodge Charger, Dodge Durango, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Chrysler announced that these potential lemon Chrysler vehicles that are equipped with 3.6 liter engines are susceptible to experiencing engine failure thereby increasing the risk of an accident. Apparently the engine blocks were not cleaned properly in the affected vehicles, which resulted in debris in the engine. The debris in the engine has the potential of damaging engine components, which can lead to the engine seizing up while driving.
Chrysler will replace the defective engines free of charge for its consumers. They will begin to notify consumers in early October. Chrysler owners can also input their Vehicle Identification Numbers on Chrysler’s website in order to see if their car is subject to the recall.
