honda ridgeline backup camera recall

Is your Honda Ridgeline’s backup camera not working? It could be included in a new recall announced in May 2024. Honda has released a recall for more than 187,000 Ridgeline trucks (2020-2024) due to a potential issue with the backup camera failing to display anything.

The backup camera issue is caused by a defective wiring harness in the vehicle’s tailgate. Water and salt intrusion can cause damage to an improperly insulated wiring harness.

Recurring tailgate opening and closing can eventually wear out the harness, breaking the backup camera’s connection to the car’s display and rendering the rearview image inoperable.

When the harness fails, the backup camera image will no longer be visible on the vehicle’s screen. A glitchy backup camera can pose a major safety risk, particularly during reverse maneuvers. Collisions and injuries are more likely when the camera does not provide a clear view.

If you’ve had multiple repairs for Honda Ridgeline backup camera issues, you may be eligible for a lemon law claim. Consult with a lawyer to discuss your options for a refund or cash compensation.
