What is NOT covered under the GMC Manufacturer Warranty?
The GMC Manufacturer Warranty does not cover the following:
- Damage resulting from these elements is not included in the warranty coverage.
- Wear-and-tear parts: Components such as brake pads, windshield wipers, and batteries are not covered under the warranty.
- Environmental damages: The warranty does not cover damage from hail, floods, or other environmental conditions.
- Damage due to bedliners, collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, or objects striking the vehicle: These types of damages are typically covered by car insurance, not the manufacturer’s warranty.
Please refer to the warranty manual for a full list of what is and what is not covered. Other exclusions may apply.
What is covered under the GMC CPO Warranty?
The GMC Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Warranty provides the following coverage:
- CPO Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty: This warranty is for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. It is fully transferable with a $0 deductible. This is in addition to any remaining original factory Bumper-to-Bumper warranty.
- CPO Powertrain Limited Warranty: This warranty extends the original 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty to 6 years or 100,000 miles, calculated from the vehicle’s original in-service date. There is a $0 deductible for warrantable repairs that are required as a result of defects due to material and/or workmanship to the powertrain components.
- CPO Scheduled Maintenance Program: All Certified Pre-Owned Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC vehicles come with the CPO Scheduled Maintenance Program. It provides peace of mind by covering the following routine maintenance services:
- Oil and Oil Filter Changes
- Tire Rotations
- Multi-Point Vehicle Inspections
Please note that items that are normally considered “Maintenance and Wear” are excluded from warranty coverage. For a full list of what is and what is not covered, you should refer to the CPO Owner’s Guide.
What is a GMC Extended Warranty?
A GMC Extended Warranty, also known as the GMC Protection Plan, is an optional coverage plan that you can purchase in addition to your vehicle’s manufacturer’s warranty. It offers comprehensive coverage endorsed by GMC and backed by General Motors. Key features of the GMC Extended Warranty include:
- Three coverage options: Powertrain, Silver, and Platinum.
- Depending on the plan you choose, your vehicle could be covered for as many as 1,500 parts.
- The Plan coverage runs concurrently with any relevant manufacturer warranties.
This extended warranty helps protect your investment by covering unexpected repairs that can be costly.
