In September of 2023,  Ford issued a recall due to concerns regarding the brightness and alignment of the front headlights in certain 2023 Ford Edge crossover vehicles. This misalignment raises concerns regarding the hazards of potentially blinding oncoming drivers, in addition to violating federal safety regulations.

To remedy the issue, over 8,500 Ford Edge SUVs are subject to inspection to determine if the front right headlight assemblies require replacement.

According to Ford, the problem stems from the misalignment of the folder assembly with the high beam reflector in the Bi-LED module. This issue was first detected in May of this year when an assembly plant noticed a yellow halo condition on a Ford Edge headlight. After inspections, it was revealed that 4 of 6 of the headlights did not conform to the federal standards of linearity, photometric intensity, or both.

What is Ford’s approach on the recall?

In May and June of 2023, Ford undertook an inquiry into the production records of their supplier and identified a potential issue with right headlights manufactured from Jan 10, 2023, to Jan 17, 2023. Initially, this encompassed 5,445 headlights, a number that was later expanded to 8,523.

In June, the supplier conducted tests on 102 Ford Edge right headlight assemblies from the same production period. Seven of these headlights failed to meet the established standards.

As of August 2023, there have been no reports of warranty claims, filed incidents, accidents, or injuries linked to the Ford Edge headlights.

Recall notifications for affected 2023 Ford Edge owners were scheduled to be sent on October 9, 2023. Owners of the affected vehicles can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 and refer to the recall number 23C26. Dealers will inspect and replace the front right headlight assembly, if necessary, free of charge.

What are signs that my Ford Edge is affected?

    • Affected headlights may seem too bright
    • Affected headlights may have uneven aim
    • Other cars have flashed headlights back at you while in traffic

You may also check if your vehicle was assembled at the Oakville Assembly plant between April 17th, 2023, and May 29th, 2023. Many of the vehicles that were affected were manufactured from this plant. Additionally, you can enter your vehicle identification number on the recall page of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website to see if your vehicle is included.

What steps should I take if I own a Ford Edge?

Recall communications from Ford were scheduled to be mailed out on October 9th, 2023. The Ford reference number for the recall is 23C26. Once received, follow all necessary steps in the notification to ensure the issue is rectified.

If you have still not heard from Ford by the end of October 2023, locate you Ford Edge’s 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), typically found on your vehicle’s dashboard, in your registration documents, or on your insurance paperwork. Next, enter your VIN into the NHTSA recall checker tool to ensure your vehicle is included.

The system will promptly verify if there are any outstanding recalls associated with your Ford Edge. If a recall is displayed, call Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332, reference recall 23C26, and ask for any next steps you should take.

You may also take your Ford Edge into your local dealership to verify whether your vehicle is affected by the recall, and to confirm any next steps.

In September of 2023, Nissan found itself in the spotlight due to a recall affecting it’s Nissan Altima and Sentra models. The recall focuses on repairing faulty backup cameras which have become an integral safety feature in modern vehicles.

These cameras provide a clear view of the area behind the vehicle as the driver reverses, helping them spot obstacles, pedestrians, and other vehicles that may not be visible through the rearview or side mirrors. However, as with any technology, backup cameras can experience issues, and in this case, a problem was identified, and a recall issued.

Which Models are Included in the Nissan Backup Camera Recall?

The 2023 Nissan Backup Camera Recall affects over 153,000 vehicles total, including the following models:

      1. 2019 – 2021 Nissan Altima: A widely recognized midsize sedan in the Nissan lineup, known for its comfortable ride and reliable performance.
      2. 2020 – 2021 Nissan Sentra: A compact car renowned for its fuel efficiency and practicality.

Why is my Nissan Altima or Sentra Backup Camera Not Working?

The recall involving the Nissan backup camera problems revolves around faulty wiring within the systems that can become damaged as a result of normal vibration and movement. If this damage happens, the backup cameras can stop displaying images and/or display distorted images.

Backup cameras help drivers in various scenarios, particularly when parking in tight spaces, backing out of driveways, or navigating through crowded areas. A malfunctioning camera can compromise the safety of both the vehicle occupants and pedestrians, making this recall imperative for Nissan and its customers.

Nissan Altima & Sentra Recall Implications

Your Nissan Altima or Sentra is not just a vehicle; it is an investment in your daily life. A malfunctioning backup camera can jeopardize this investment and, more importantly, put lives at risk.

Recalls can be concerning for consumers, as they raise questions about the safety and reliability of the affected vehicles. Nissan plans to begin mailing recall notifications to affected Altima and Sentra owners on October 17, 2023. These notifications include information on the recall, the potential safety risks associated with malfunctioning backup cameras, and instructions on how to proceed to address the issue.

As with any recall, owners are urged to take their vehicles to an authorized dealership for the necessary repairs at no cost. This recall serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing concerns promptly, as it not only ensures the safety of the vehicle’s occupants but also contributes to the overall safety of the road.

What Steps Should I Take if my Nissan Backup Camera is Affected?

Don’t wait to see if your vehicle is part of the recall. Visit the NHTSA website and input your 17-digit VIN to determine if your vehicle is affected. This simple step can provide peace of mind and help you take necessary action promptly.

Owners of affected Nissan Altima and Sentra vehicles are encouraged to schedule an appointment at their local authorized Nissan dealership to get the necessary repairs completed. Nissan dealerships are equipped to replace or repair the malfunctioning backup cameras, ensuring that the vehicles are, once again, equipped with a fully functional safety feature.

If the manufacturer deems that the rear camera needs to be replaced, the repairs will be performed free of charge. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall repair can take approximately 40 minutes to complete.

Genesis, a luxury vehicle brand under the Hyundai Motor Company umbrella, has rapidly gained recognition for its high-quality vehicles. The Genesis brand has become synonymous with luxury and performance. However, even in the world of luxury vehicles, recalls do occur.

The Genesis fuel pump recall has garnered significant attention, as thousands of vehicle owners have been affected by associated engine issues. Genesis is recalling approximately 19,000 SUVs and sedans for a faulty fuel pump that can result in loss of engine power.

Safety concerns are paramount in the world of automobiles, and this recall sheds light on a critical issue that has impacted numerous Genesis vehicles.

What is the Cause of the Genesis Fuel Pump Recall?

Hyundai learned of this problem about one year ago when consumers began presenting their Genesis vehicles for warranty claims related to engine stalling and hesitation. Hyundai engineers’ inspection of the fuel pumps revealed interference between the impeller and housing.  It turns out that a certain lot of the fuel pumps may not have been produced with sufficient impeller material thereby leading to their deterioration and malfunction.

The faulty fuel pumps were tied to the Genesis G80, GV80 and GV70 vehicles that were produced between June 2021 and December 2021.

A vehicle’s fuel pump plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery of fuel from the tank to the engine. It is responsible for maintaining the proper fuel pressure and, by extension, the vehicle’s performance, and safety. Any malfunction in the fuel pump can lead to severe consequences.

In affected Genesis vehicles, the fuel pump can deform over time and negatively impact the fuel pump housing. This can result in the fuel pump shutting down thereby restricting gas flow to the engine resulting in loss of engine power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Which Genesis Vehicles are Affected by the Recall?

The Genesis fuel pump recall affects the following Genesis model and model year vehicles:

        • 2021 – 2022 Genesis G80
        • 2021 – 2022 Genesis GV80
        • 2022 Genesis GV70

Genesis’ parent company, Hyundai reported it is aware of hundreds of reports of fuel pump failure. Hyundai has not reported any known injuries or crashes related to the fuel pump defect.

What are the Symptoms of a Genesis Faulty Fuel Pump?

If there is a problem with the fuel pump in a Genesis GV70, GV80, or G80, owners may experience the following symptoms:

        • Stalling
        • Engine misfires
        • Engine hesitating
        • Engine stumbling
        • Rough idle
        • Illumination of the check engine light
        • Illumination of other malfunction lights in the instrument cluster

        genesis fuel pump problems

How Can I Address the Genesis Fuel Pump Recall?

Genesis owners are supposed to be notified of the recall by mail around November 10, 2023.  The recall will instruct affected vehicle owners to present their vehicle to a Genesis dealer for recall repair work. The repairs will consist of replacing the fuel pump at no cost to owners.

For more information, Genesis consumers can contact Hyundai customer service at 855-371-9460.

If you own or lease a Genesis and have experienced fuel pump and/or engine related issues, you should contact an authorized Genesis or Hyundai dealership and present your vehicle for repairs to be performed to your vehicle.

What Should I do if I have a Genesis with a Faulty Fuel Pump?

If you own or lease a Genesis vehicle that has experienced issues with the engine and/or fuel pump, present your vehicle to an authorized Genesis or Hyundai dealership for warranty and/or recall repair work.

If your vehicle has been presented repeatedly for the same or similar issues, it might be a lemon and if so, you may be entitled to a refund or replacement under the Lemon Law plus the payment of your legal fees.

If you suspect your vehicle is a lemon, make sure to do the following:

        1. Present your vehicle to an authorized Genesis or Hyundai dealership for repairs;
        2. Accurately report all issues to the service technician, and ensure your concerns are properly documented on all repair invoices;
        3. Save a copy of all repair invoices;
        4. Take pictures and/or videos (safely) of the issues you are experiencing.

Earlier this year in August 2023, Nissan issued a recall affecting more than 236,000 Sentra sedans produced between 2020 and 2022 due to a defective component that could potentially hinder steering functionality.

In more severe cases, this issue may result in a loss of control for the driver. While some of these vehicles might have previously undergone a recall in 2021 for a similar problem, they now require additional repairs.

The steering defect centers around the vehicle’s tie rod, a component responsible for linking the steering system to the drive wheels. In affected vehicles, the tie rod can readily bend when subjected to significant impact forces, such as colliding with a curb.

This can lead to noticeable vibration and an off-center steering wheel. In the worst-case scenario, if the tie rod fails, it could result in a partial loss of steering control.

Signs Your Nissan Might be Affected

Signs that your Nissan Sentra’s steering system may be affected include:

          • Difficulty Turning the Key
          • No-Start Condition
          • Stalling
          • Vibration in the Steering Wheel
          • Intermittent Loss of Lighting and Accessories
          • Silent Starter Motor
          • Inconsistent Electrical Issues
          • Hotter or Colder Temperatures Affect Operation

If you notice any of these signs, we recommend having your Nissan vehicle inspected as soon as possible.

How Can I Address the Nissan Sentra Tie Rod Issue?

If you own a 2020 to 2022 Nissan sedan and are experiencing steering issues such as the Nissan Sentra steering wheel vibration problem, you should contact a Nissan dealer to arrange for recall repairs. Dealerships are set to replace both the left and right tie rods with newly designed parts once they become available, a process expected to start sometime this winter season.

During this period, owners are encouraged to bring their vehicles to authorized dealerships for inspection. Any identified damage, including broken or bent tie rods, will be promptly replaced, and both the inspection and replacement procedures will be carried out at no cost to affected drivers.

Owners who wish to inquire further about this recall or schedule their vehicle for inspection and repair can contact Nissan directly at 800-867-7669. For reference purposes, the NHTSA has assigned the recall campaign number 23V581.

Additionally, Nissan has designated this recall as R23B3. Importantly, this recall supersedes and extends the scope of recall number 21V461 from 2021. If your vehicle has previously undergone repairs under the 21V461 recall, it will still require the new repair outlined in this updated campaign.

How Can I Check for Open Recalls on my Nissan Sentra?

To determine if your Nissan Sentra has any open recalls, follow these four steps:

          1. Start by visiting the official website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
          2. Locate your car’s 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). You can usually find it on your vehicle’s dashboard, registration, or insurance documents.
          3. On the NHTSA website, you’ll find a dedicated tool where you can enter your VIN. The system will instantly check if there are any open recalls associated with your Nissan Sentra. If no recalls appear, it indicates that your vehicle currently does not have any open recalls.
          4. Keep in mind that recalls can be announced regularly. To stay informed about any future recall notifications related to your vehicle, it’s advisable to periodically revisit the NHTSA’s website.

Given the frequency of recall announcements by automakers, it is advisable to periodically revisit the NHTSA’s website to stay informed about any future recall notifications related to your vehicle.

In documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Nissan acknowledges having received 91 reports of tie rods breaking or bending and five associated accidents. Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries resulting from this issue.

          What Should I Do Next?

Today’s cars are intricate systems with numerous interconnected components, and manufacturing errors can occasionally disrupt their operation. To ensure your safety and the continued performance of your vehicle, make it a priority to check if your 2020-2022 Sentra has been subject to any recalls related to manufacturing defects.

To stay informed, keep a watchful eye on communications from Nissan, the manufacturer, and the NHTSA. In the case of the Sentra Tie Rod recall, prompt action and staying informed can help you maintain both the safety and reliability of your Nissan vehicle.

If you experience persistent issues with a Sentra vehicle that has not been recalled, you may want to explore Lemon Law help. What causes the Jeep Backup Camera Issue?

The manufacturer officially notified NHTSA, that the vehicles are equipped with a central vision processing/park assist module (CVPAM) that contains software which, under specific circumstances, might obstruct the transmission of the camera signal to the media screen.

Upon investigation, engineers traced the defect to a component supplied by Robert Bosch, which results in a camera display issue due to faulty software. The image display issue violates the federal safety standards regarding rear visibility. FCA US LLC’s Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance division became aware of a potential concern regarding the rearview camera’s functionality, promoting an engineering evaluation. However, for unknown reasons, the manufacturer did not officially recognize the issue till June 21.

In the ever-evolving landscape of automotive technology, manufacturers constantly strive to enhance the driving experience and improve vehicle safety. One such innovation is the Ford Trailer Hitch Assist system, a feature designed to make trailer hitching and backing up more accessible and safer for Ford consumers.

However, like any technological advancement, it can face challenges and recalls. Ford recently issued a recall affecting approximately 18,500 Ford trucks including the 2023 Ford F-250, Ford F-350 and Ford F-450.

The Evolution of Ford Trailer Hitch Assist

Ford has a long history of pioneering automotive technologies, and the Trailer Hitch Assist system is no exception. The system was introduced to simplify the daunting task of hitching a trailer to a Ford vehicle. It uses a combination of cameras and sensors to provide drivers with a clear view of the hitch and the trailer, making it easier to align the trailer coupler with the hitch receiver.

Ford’s Trailer Backup Assist, also known as Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, quickly gained popularity among truck and SUV owners. The system allows drivers to control the direction of the trailer using a knob on the dashboard. By simply turning the knob in the desired direction, the trailer responds accordingly, simplifying what was once a challenging task, even for experienced drivers.

What Causes the Trailer Hitch Assist System Defect?

As with any technology, there can be unforeseen issues that require attention. In the case of Ford’s Trailer Hitch Assist system, a recall was initiated due to safety concerns.

This recall affects various Ford models. If an affected truck is equipped with the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature, the backup camera image may not be displayed when using the feature. Instead, the hitch or trailer view may be displayed.  The problem lies within a software coding error in the feature.

              Understanding the Recall

The Ford Trailer Hitch Assist Recall was prompted by reports of intermittent malfunctions in the system. Users reported instances where the backup camera would freeze, provide distorted images, or fail to activate altogether. In some cases, these malfunctions occurred at critical moments, such as when attempting to reverse a trailer into a tight spot or align it with the hitch.

The safety implications of these malfunctions were evident, as they could potentially lead to accidents, collisions, or damage to property. Ford took these reports seriously and initiated a recall to address the issues and ensure the safety of its customers.

Recall letters were mailed to Ford owners in the middle of September 2023. Affected vehicles need to get the recall repair which consists of an update to the drive assistance module software. Ford says they are also looking into an option to update the software through a Ford Power-Up (over-the-air) update.

The Importance of Addressing Safety Concerns – The Recall Process

Safety should be paramount in the automotive industry, and automakers like Ford are expected to provide reliable and secure vehicles to their customers. When safety concerns arise, recalls are a necessary step to rectify issues promptly.

              1. Identifying the Problem

The first step in any recall process is identifying the problem. In this case, Ford received reports of malfunctioning Trailer Hitch Assist systems and conducted extensive testing to determine the root causes.

              1. Issuing a Recall Notice

Once the issues were identified, Ford issued a recall notice to its customers. The notice informed affected vehicle owners about the recall, described the problem, and provided instructions on how to rectify it.

              1. Repairing or Replacing the System

Ford authorized dealerships and service centers were equipped to repair or replace the faulty Trailer Hitch Assist systems. This process is typically done at no cost to the vehicle owner, as recalls are considered a manufacturer’s responsibility.

What to Do if You Experience Issues with your Ford Trailer Hitch Assist System

Vehicle owners are encouraged to schedule a recall appointment. While innovative features like Trailer Backup Assist can greatly enhance the driving experience, it’s essential to address any safety concerns promptly.

Innovation in the automotive industry will always come with challenges. Recalls like this one reminds us that safety is paramount.

If you own or lease a Ford Super Duty truck that is affected by the recall, you should inquire with your local authorized Ford dealership about getting the necessary recall repair work completed.

In the event you experience repeat issues with the Ford Trailer Hitch Assist feature, or you experience any other repeat issues or repairs with your Ford truck, you should look into your available rights and remedies under the California Lemon Law.

The California Lemon Law requires the auto manufacturer to promptly repurchase a vehicle if it is deemed a lemon. If you suspect your Ford Super Duty is a lemon, call the Lemon Law Experts today for a free case evaluation. We have been successfully helping consumers with lemon law claims against auto manufacturers like Ford since 2009.

It’s possible that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recalled your Nissan LEAF earlier this year if you bought it within the last five years.

More than 66,200 cars could experience unintended acceleration when gears are changed eight seconds after disengaging from cruise control, as per the NHTSA report. This manufacturing defect is linked to the vehicle control modules, which require reprogramming to address the Nissan Leaf unintended acceleration problem.

An issue arises when drivers switch driving modes (from “D” to “B”), activate the e-Pedal, or select “ECO” mode after disengaging the cruise control. In these scenarios, the vehicle may experience unintentional acceleration. Thankfully, Nissan says it has not received reports of warranty claims, accidents, or injuries pertaining to the defect.

Which vehicle years are included in the recall?

Every Nissan Leaf purchased within the last five years is included in this recall. According to the NHTSA, every vehicle within this category likely has the Nissan Leaf sudden acceleration defect. Fortunately, this problem is isolated to Nissan Leaf vehicles, and no other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles in the United States are included. Nissan Leaf owners received formal notifications about this recall starting from August 30, 2023.

What is the Nissan Leaf unintended acceleration issue?

The Nissan Leaf acceleration issue involves certain Nissan Leaf electric vehicles built between September 29, 2017, and March 15, 2023. The problem is attributed to a software issue in the vehicle’s control systems. When specific actions are taken immediately after turning off the cruise control, such as changing driving modes from “D” to “B,” enabling the e-Pedal “On,” or selecting “ECO” mode, the vehicle may continue to accelerate without driver input. In some cases, the car may not slow down as expected when the gas pedal is released, leading to a potential safety concern.

How will Nissan fix the acceleration problem?

Nissan dealerships will provide a recall repair service to reprogram the vehicle control module (VCM). This Nissan Leaf unintended acceleration fix comes at no cost to vehicle owners. This service is part of a voluntary safety recall campaign initiated by Nissan for certain model year 2018-2023 LEAF vehicles.

For inquiries or concerns about the recall notice, Nissan Leaf owners can reach out to Nissan’s customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Alternatively, they can contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.

The recall notice identifiers are as follows: NHTSA recall notice – 23V-494 and Nissan’s recall notice – R23A6. You can utilize the NHTSA website to perform recalls searches using your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

What should I do if my Nissan Leaf has acceleration or other issues?

If you encounter acceleration or other issues with your Nissan Leaf, be sure to take prompt action to ensure your safety and the proper functioning of your vehicle.

                1. Check for Recalls: First, check if your Nissan Leaf is subject to any recalls. Nissan has issued recalls for various models, including the Nissan Leaf, due to specific issues like unintended acceleration. Visit the Nissan website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to verify if your vehicle is part of a recall. If it is, contact your nearest Nissan dealership to have the necessary repairs or updates performed, often at no cost to you.
                2. Contact Your Dealership: If your Leaf experiences acceleration or other problems not related to a recall, reach out to your local Nissan dealership. They have trained technicians who can diagnose and address the issue. Be sure to provide detailed information about the problem’s symptoms and when they occur.
                3. Document the Issue: Keep a record of the issue, including the date, time, and any unusual behavior. This documentation can be helpful when discussing the problem with the dealership or if you need to pursue legal action later on.
                4. Maintenance: Be consistent in following the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule for your Nissan Leaf. Proper maintenance can prevent issues and helps ensure that your vehicle operates optimally.
                5. Safety First: If you experience sudden unintended acceleration while driving, prioritize safety. Apply the brakes, shift to neutral, and safely pull over to the side of the road.

Always consult with authorized Nissan dealerships for the most reliable solutions to any mechanical problems you encounter with your vehicle.

The Ford F-150 may face an issue concerning the unintended activation of its parking brake. This concern pertains to approximately 870,701 Ford pickups spanning the model years from 2021 to 2023. As outlined in the recall report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

As of July 11, the NHTSA had received 918 reports regarding the braking issue- among these reports, 299 individuals reported instances of unintended parking brake activation, with 19 of these occurrences happening while the vehicle was in motion.

Ford brake service mode activation, follow these instructions:

                1. Set your vehicle’s ignition to ON
                2. Release the electronic parking brake
                3. Press and hold the accelerator pedal and place the electronic parking brake switch in RELEASE. Continue to hold the accelerator pedal and electronic parking brake switch
                4. Set your vehicle’s ignition to OFF then set the ignition to ON within 5 seconds. Continue holding the accelerator pedal and the electronic parking brake switch
                5. Set the vehicle’s ignition to OFF then release both the accelerator pedal and electronic parking brake switch

Keep in mind that these operations will deactivate the brake system, preventing parking brake application until service has been completed and service mode has been deactivated. The yellow electronic parking brake indicator will be illuminated, and “Maintenance Mode” will display in the vehicle’s message center.

What causes the Ford F150 parking brake malfunction?

The root of the problem lies in the rear axle wiring harness contacting the rear axle housing. Over time, this contact can lead to the deterioration of tape and circuit insulation, exposing the wiring beneath and potentially resulting in a short circuit. Drivers of affected pickups may notice the illumination of a parking brake warning light and receive an instrument-panel message indicating a problem.

In February, Ford initiated an inquiry in response to customer complaints regarding unexpected parking brake issues with their 2021 F-150 trucks. Examination of warranty claims and field reports revealed instances of wiring damage affecting the rear electric parking brake circuits.

Engineers subsequently discovered that the chafing of the rear axle wiring harness assembly had the potential to wear through protective abrasion-resistant tape and circuit insulation. This process could ultimately expose the copper wiring, leading to the grounding of circuits on the rear axle housing.

How do I know if my Ford experiences the F150 parking brake malfunction?

If your F-150 falls within the model years 2021-2023, it is within the recall range, however, there are specific indicators to watch out for if your vehicle has the F150 recall parking brake malfunction:

                  • Service Message: Keep an eye on your vehicle’s instrument panel for any service messages related to the parking brake. In the case of the F-150 parking brake issue, you may receive a service message alerting you to a problem with the parking brake system.
                  • Warning Light: Look for the illumination of the parking brake warning light on your dashboard. This light typically appears when there’s an issue with the parking brake, and it may be accompanied by a corresponding instrument-panel message.
                  • Check for Recalls: Visit the official website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or Ford’s official website to check if your specific F-150 VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is subject to any recalls or service bulletins related to the parking brake malfunction.

If you suspect that you have any issues or receive service messages related to the parking brake, you should contact Ford’s customer service or visit a Ford dealership promptly for inspection and potential repairs.

How will Ford fix the F150 recall for the parking brake?

Earlier this year in September 2023, Ford sent out recall letters to address the parking brake malfunction issue in Ford F-150 trucks. Affected vehicles will undergo inspection of their rear axle wiring harnesses at Ford dealerships.

If the abrasion tape covering the wire bundle shows signs of wear-through, a new service harness will be installed. In cases where wear-through is not observed, a protective tie strap and tape wrap will be added. Ford F-150 owners seeking further information can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 and reference recall number 23S35.

What should I do if I experience F150 parking brake or other issues?

Here are some steps we recommend if you experience braking system issues or other problems in your Ford F-150:

                  1. Safety First: If you experience any sudden or severe issues while driving, prioritize safety. Pull over to a safe location, turn on your hazard lights, and, if necessary, call for roadside assistance.
                  2. Contact Ford: Reach out to Ford’s customer service at 866-436-7332 and mention the specific issue you are facing. They can guide you on the next steps and whether your vehicle is affected by any recalls or service bulletins.
                  3. Consult Your Owner’s Manual: Your vehicle’s manual can often provide guidance on troubleshooting common issues and performing basic maintenance tasks.
                  4. Visit a Ford Dealership: If your vehicle is under warranty or part of a recall, schedule an appointment with your nearest Ford dealership for a professional inspection and any necessary repairs.
                  5. Document the Issue: Keep records of your interactions with Ford, service appointments, and any repairs conducted. This documentation may be essential if you experience recurring issues or need to seek legal recourse.
                  6. Stay Informed: Stay updated on any recalls, service bulletins, or safety alerts related to your F-150 model. You can check Ford’s official website or NHTSA’s website.
                  7. Explore Legal Options: If you have repeatedly experienced issues that remain unresolved, you may want to consult with a legal professional who specializes in consumer protection or automotive issues.

Addressing issues promptly not only ensures your safety but also helps maintain the longevity and performance of your Ford F-150.

Honda is currently recalling over 100,000 vehicles due to a brake-related issue that poses the risk of brake failure. This recall encompasses 124,077 cars across several popular models, including 2020-2021 Civics, 2020-2023 Ridgelines, 2021-2023 Passports, 2021-2022 Pilots, and 2020 Acura MDX.

On June 29, Honda officially notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) about the problem. According to the manufacturer, the defect centers on a crucial component, the brake master cylinder, which may not have been securely fastened to the brake booster assembly during the manufacturing process.

This oversight can result in loose or missing tie rod nuts within the brake booster assembly. When the brake pedal is applied, this loose fastener can exert a bending load on the brake booster assembly tie rod studs.

How do I know if my vehicle experiences the Acura or Honda brake system problem?

Here is how to find out if your Acura or Honda vehicle is included in the recall:

                    • Locate Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): The VIN is a unique 17-character identifier for your vehicle. You can find it on the driver’s side dashboard near the windshield or on the driver’s side door frame. It’s also included in your vehicle’s registration documents.
                    • Visit the Manufacturer’s Website: Go to the official Acura or Honda website. Look for a section related to recalls and safety recalls. Enter your VIN in the designated area to check for any active recalls, including those related to brake system issues.
                    • Use the NHTSA Website: You can also enter the VIN number to find recalls using this website at NHTSA.gov/Recalls. If there’s an active recall for your vehicle, it will be listed here.
                    • Contact Customer Service: If you cannot find recall information online, contact Acura or Honda customer service. They can assist you in checking if your vehicle is subject to any recalls, including brake-related ones.
                    • Check Your Mail: Keep an eye on your mailbox for recall notices from Acura or Honda. Manufacturers often send recall notices to vehicle owners.

Note that your Honda or Acura vehicle may have brake system issues yet isn’t included in any active recalls. If this is the case, we highly recommend taking it for repairs as soon as possible if you notice strange symptoms in your vehicle’s brakes.

Does Honda perform the master cylinder recall fix for free?

Yes, owners of the affected vehicles can have their cars inspected and repaired at no cost. Recall-related repairs, as mandated by law, are provided at no expense to vehicle owners by the manufacturers. This means that if your vehicle is subject to a recall due to safety or manufacturing issues, the manufacturer is legally obliged to cover the cost of inspecting and rectifying the problem.

Letters notifying owners about the Acura brake system recall were set to be mailed on August 7, 2023. Drivers can contact Honda customer service at (888) 234-2138 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for assistance. The recall is identified by Honda with the codes VEU, AEV, and ZET. For more details and information regarding the defect, you can refer to this defect notice available on NHTSA’s website.

What should I do if my Honda’s brakes are defective?

If you suspect your Honda’s brakes are defective, we recommend taking the following steps:

                    1. Check for Recalls: Visit the official Honda Owners website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website. Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check for any outstanding recalls related to your vehicle’s brakes.
                    2. Visit an Authorized Honda Dealer: Schedule an appointment with an authorized Honda dealership. If your vehicle is under recall, they will inspect and repair the brakes free of charge, as recalls typically cover repair costs.
                    3. Document the Issue: Keep records of your conversations with Honda customer service, repair receipts, and any communication related to the brake issue for future reference.

General Motors (GM) has issued a substantial recall impacting over 600,000 2020-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain SUVs. The recall addresses a particular concern related to the child seat anchorage systems in these vehicles. During the manufacturing process, the anchorage bars were incorrectly powder-coated, potentially compromising their ability to securely hold a child safety seat in place.

The excessive powder coating on one or more of the four LATCH anchorage bars for the rear seat lower child seat raises safety concerns and renders the SUVs non-compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 225.

What causes the child seat latch anchor problem?

The issue involves incorrect powder-coating of the Chevy Equinox car seat anchorage bars, which could result in an increase in their diameter beyond acceptable tolerances.

This excessive thickness of the paint may cause the bar diameter to exceed the specified 6 millimeter plus or minus 1 millimeter thickness outlined in the Federal/Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard- making it impossible to properly attach a child safety seat using the anchorage bar system.

As per the Department of Transportation, the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system is an attachment system designed to replace the seat belt for installing a car seat. It has been a standard feature in most vehicles produced on or after September 1, 2002. Recently, GM was made aware of potential issues when Transport Canada notified the company that a 2022 model-year GMC Terrain failed compliance testing for CMVSS 210.2(3)(b).

In response to an investigation conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), GM launched its own product investigation, discovering that one of its suppliers had periodically utilized a coating provider with inadequate process controls to monitor the finish applied to the LATCH anchorage bars installed in their vehicles.

To assess the extent of the problem, GM conducted a survey on 72 employee-owned vehicles, identifying 56 non-conforming parts during the examination.

Which vehicles have defective LATCH Anchorage Bars?

The following GM vehicles may have defective child restraint anchorage systems:

                      • 2020-2023 Chevrolet Equinox
                      • 2020-2023 GMC Terrain

Do the affected GM Child Restraint Anchorage Systems conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards?

No, affected vehicles with defective child restraint systems do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 225.

Does the manufacturer have a solution for the issue?

Yes, GM announced that dealerships will conduct a thorough inspection of the LATCH anchorage bars and proceed to remove and replace the finish, if deemed necessary, at no cost to the vehicle owners. This service will be provided to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the anchorage system.

Until the remedy is fully completed, owners are strongly advised to utilize the vehicle’s rear seat belts for installing child seats. This temporary measure will ensure the safety and security of children during travel. Owner notification letters were released on June 26, 2023.

What should I do if my vehicle is a part of the recall?

If your vehicle is part of the recall, it is essential to take immediate action to address the safety concern. Here are the steps you should follow:

                      • Contact the Dealership: Get in touch with an authorized Chevrolet or GMC dealership as soon as possible. Inform them that your vehicle is part of the recall and schedule an appointment for the necessary inspection and repair.
                      • Inspection and Repair: At the dealership, the LATCH anchorage bars will be thoroughly inspected to determine if they have the excessive powder coating issue. If required, the dealership will proceed with removing and replacing the finish on the anchorage bars to ensure they meet safety standards.
                      • Use Rear Seat Belts: Until the recall remedy is completed, GM advises owners to use the rear seat belts to install child seats as a temporary safety measure.
                      • Contact a Lemon Law Attorney and Consider Filing an Individual Claim: If you believe your vehicle’s repeated issues persist even after the recall remedy, it may be beneficial to consult a Lemon Law attorney. They can provide legal guidance and help evaluate if your vehicle qualifies as a lemon under state laws.

Follow the recall process promptly to ensure the safety of yourself and your passengers. Affected GM drivers can reach out to Chevrolet customer service at 800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 800-462-8782. This recall is identified by the NHTSA campaign number: 23V339000, while GM has assigned the recall number N232403240 for reference.

To check if your vehicle is affected by an open recall, you can visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website. By entering your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) on their website, you can determine if any open recalls require attention.
