What is the issue behind the Ford recall? Blank Screens! A Dangerous Problem

The Ford Escape instrument cluster is a critical component in Ford vehicles, providing the driver with essential information about speed, fuel level, engine temperature, and more. In the case of the 2023 Ford Escape SUVs and Super Duty Trucks, an issue has arisen where the screens in the instrument clusters have gone blank or malfunctioned. This poses a significant safety concern for drivers, as it affects their ability to monitor vital information while on the road.

The problem with the Ford Escape information display not working and the Ford Super Duty instrument cluster not working is the result of a faulty electrical connection. An improperly soldered joint can cause the display screens in affected vehicles to turn off.

As a result of the Ford Super Duty truck and Escape dash screen not working, the speedometer, fuel tank level, driving information, and important warning lights will not be visible to drivers. A non-functioning digital instrument panel can increase the risk of accident due to the inability to see vital information.  Also, a non-operating instrument panel is deemed non-compliant according to federal automotive safety regulations.

How Many and What Type of Ford Vehicles Are Affected?

Ford’s instrument cluster recall has widespread implications. Over 38,000 Ford Escape SUVs and Ford Super Duty Trucks are affected.

All recalled Ford vehicles are of the 2023 model year. The affected vehicles include Ford Escape SUVs that were manufactured between November 12, 2022, through June 16, 2023 and Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks that were manufactured between January 19, 2023 and May 31, 2023.

Such a large-scale recall underscores the urgency of addressing this issue to ensure driver safety and satisfaction.

The Repair Process – How Will Ford Fix the Blank Screens?

Owners of affected vehicles are encouraged to contact their local Ford dealerships to schedule a repair. The remedy for the issue is expected to involve the replacement of the Ford Escape and Super Duty instrument cluster components.

These repairs are provided free of charge to the vehicle owners as part of the recall. It’s important for owners to heed this recall and take their vehicles to the dealership as soon as possible to ensure their safety on the road.

How to Check if Your Vehicle is Affected – Is Your Ford on the Recall List?

The instrument cluster is not just a convenient feature in a vehicle; it is a crucial element for safe and efficient driving. Without accurate information on speed, fuel levels, and other important metrics, drivers are at risk of accidents and breakdowns.

Owners of 2023 Ford Escape SUVs and 2023 Ford Super Duty Trucks should check to see if their vehicle is part of the recall. Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) typically notify affected vehicle owners directly, but it’s also a good practice to visit the official Ford website or use the NHTSA VIN lookup tool to verify if your vehicle is impacted. Keeping up with recalls is an essential aspect of vehicle ownership, as it ensures that you’re driving a safe and reliable vehicle.

How to contact Ford: Owners can contact Ford directly at 866-436-7332.

How to check whether your Ford has an open recall:  You can input your vehicle’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website to check if it has any open recall.

In summer 2023, Chrysler announced a recall affecting nearly 90,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles due to potential issues with an incorrectly installed steering column intermediate shaft.

This flaw poses a significant risk as it could lead to the intermediate shaft detaching while driving, compromising safety. The recall encompasses specific models, including the 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs, totaling to nearly 90,000 vehicles.

Stellantis, the multinational automotive manufacturing corporation that owns both Chrysler and Jeep, estimates that approximately 1% of the recalled vehicles will experience issues involving the Jeep Grand Cherokee steering shaft. Owners of affected models are encouraged to contact their local Jeep dealer to arrange for an inspection.

What causes the steering problem in the Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The steering problem in the Jeep Grand Cherokee is primarily caused by an assembly error during the manufacturing process. The intermediate shaft, a crucial component of the steering column, may not have been correctly installed. This shaft is responsible for connecting the steering wheel to the steering system, allowing the driver to control the direction of the vehicle.

If this shaft is not properly installed, it could potentially detach from the rest of the steering system. This detachment would result in a loss of steering control, posing a significant safety risk to both the driver and other road users. Before such a detachment occurs, drivers may notice certain warning signs.

One such sign could be an unusual noise when turning the steering wheel. This noise could be a result of the loose intermediate shaft moving within the steering column.

Another warning sign could be slight play in the steering. This refers to a situation where the steering wheel can move back and forth slightly without causing any change in the direction of the front wheels. This play is not normal and could indicate that the intermediate shaft is not securely attached.

How do I know if my vehicle is a part of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Steering Recall?

The following vehicles are included in the Jeep Cherokee Steering column recall:

      • 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee
      • 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

The Jeep steering recall affects 53,965 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee manufactured between October 19, 2021, and April 4, 2023; as well as 35,407 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L manufactured between January 27, 2021, and April 4, 2023. The Grand Cherokee L is an extended version of the model that allows a seven-seating configuration.

      grand cherokee steering problems

How does Jeep plan to fix the steering issues?

Authorized Jeep dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the intermediate shaft and assembly parts, free of charge. Customers who have further questions or need assistance with their vehicle can contact Jeep’s customer service at 800-853-1403.

How do I know if my Jeep has steering problems?

Before the intermediate shaft detaches, drivers may hear a noise when turning the steering wheel or notice some “play” in the steering—meaning that the steering wheel can move back and forth an inch or so without turning the front wheels. If you notice these symptoms or if your vehicle falls within these model years, it may be part of the recall.

Chrysler released recall notification letters to affected drivers beginning July 28, 2023. To check whether your vehicle is subject to any open recalls related to steering problems, you can utilize this VIN lookup tool provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

By entering your car’s 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the NHTSA’s website, you can quickly confirm if any recalls are associated with your vehicle. If no recall notifications are displayed, it indicates that your vehicle presently does not have any outstanding recalls.

Given that automakers frequently issue recalls, we advise periodically revisiting the NHTSA’s website to ensure your vehicle hasn’t been affected by a recall. If your vehicle is part of the recall, follow the instructions provided by the NHTSA and the manufacturer to best address the issue.

In the world of automotive safety, even the smallest detail can make a significant difference. For the owners of about 182,000 Jeep Compass SUVs, an unexpected recall has brought attention to a seemingly minor issue with significant implications.

This recall centers on the instrument panel, a vital component of any vehicle’s functionality, and it’s raising concerns for Jeep Compass owners across the nation.

Why is there a Jeep Instrument Panel recall?

The instrument cluster recall is the result of an issue that first came to light in April 2023 when the Compass center cluster displays lost their ability to adjust backlight levels. Engineers undertook a meticulous investigation, attributing the problem to a perplexing “vehicle build issue.” In essence, incorrect software found its way into the body control modules of these vehicles, rendering the brightness controls ineffective.

At the heart of this recall is a matter of regulatory compliance. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101 governs controls and displays in vehicles.

It mandates that controls and indicators must be adjustable to provide at least two levels of brightness. This seemingly minor requirement has far-reaching safety implications, ensuring drivers can effectively read their instrument panels in various lighting conditions. Unfortunately, due to a software issue, these adjustability levels are compromised for the affected Jeep Compass models.

Despite the inconvenience and potential safety concerns, it’s reassuring to note that there have been no reports of injuries associated with this recall. However, Jeep Compass owners should take the matter seriously, ensuring that they take their vehicle in for any necessary recall repairs related to the issue.

How do I know if my vehicle is included in the Jeep Compass Display Brightness recall?

The 2023 Jeep Compass Instrument Panel Recall encompasses a substantial number of vehicles, specifically 182,000 2022-2023 Jeep Compass SUVs produced between February 17, 2021, and July 26, 2023. Affected owners may experience issues with the brightness of their Jeep Compass dashboard lights which can result in not being able to see crucial information while driving.

A Separate Recall for Mopar Body Control Modules

In addition to the Jeep Compass Instrument Panel Recall, FCA is also issuing a recall for approximately 350 Mopar body control modules with specific part numbers. If you happen to possess one of these modules, don’t worry; there’s a solution in sight. Authorized dealerships are ready to repurchase these modules. For related inquiries, call 800-853-1403.

What Can Affected Jeep Compass Owners Do?

If you’re among the Jeep Compass owners grappling with instrument panel display issues, rest assured that you’re not alone in this journey. Jeep dealerships will perform critical updates to the body control module software at no charge to owners. Recall letters were mailed beginning on October 3, 2023.

For those eager to stay informed and seek expert guidance regarding this recall, the manufacturer has established a dedicated hotline. You can reach them at 800-853-1403, and when you call, please be sure to mention Jeep Compass recall 88A.

What caused the Hyundai Elantra Motor Recall?

Hyundai’s recall of the Elantra Hybrids covers approximately 37,953 vehicles in the United States, and the decision came following reports of unintended acceleration incidents. According to Hyundai, the affected vehicles are from the 2021 through 2023 model years. While no injuries or accidents have been reported thus far, these incidents have prompted a thorough investigation to ensure the safety of both drivers and passengers.

The problem lies with the motor control unit software that can trigger a fail-safe condition that results in unintended acceleration after the brake pedal is released. Unintended acceleration issues are not uncommon in the automotive industry, but they can stem from various causes and pose significant safety concerns.

What should I do if I have problems with my Hyundai Elantra?

If you own or lease a 2021 through 2023 Hyundai Elantra, your vehicle may be subject to the Hyundai Elantra recall. Although Hyundai has announced that owners can continue driving the cars, involuntary acceleration is alarming no matter how you look at it.

Hyundai will notify owners in mid-October 2023 of the recall and advise them to present their vehicles to local Hyundai dealerships to be repaired.

The 2023 Hyundai Elantra recall solution involves the automaker updating the motor control unit software to fix the underlying issue. The repairs can be performed at authorized Hyundai dealerships.  There are no costs to owners for these repairs and Hyundai will cover any out-of-pocket expenses owners incur because of the repair process.

What are signs that my vehicle is part of the Hyundai Elantra recall?

A vehicle accelerating unintentionally can increase the risk of an accident. Affected vehicles may experience slow, involuntary acceleration after the brake pedal is released. According to Hyundai, the problem can only occur under certain conditions after the vehicle enters a fail-safe mode.

          elantra recall hyundai

What steps should I take if I experience Hyundai Elantra hybrid problems?

For the nearly 38,000 Elantra Hybrid owners affected by this recall, the situation can be concerning. They rely on their vehicles for daily transportation, and a recall can disrupt their routines and raise safety concerns.

Owners of affected vehicles should follow Hyundai’s guidelines and bring their cars to authorized dealerships for inspection and any required repairs. It’s essential for them to take this issue seriously, as unintended acceleration can pose significant risks on the road. Being proactive and ensuring their vehicles are in good working condition is the responsible course of action for owners of these vehicles.

Below is some important information that highlights key details regarding the Hyundai Elantra Motor Recall:

          • Vehicles Impacted: 2021-2023 Hyundai Elantra hybrid vehicles.
          • Issue: Software error with the motor control unit that can result in unintended acceleration once the brake pedal is released.
          • Repairs: Hyundai will be notifying owners in mid-October of recall repairs that consist of updating the motor control unit software, at no cost to owners.
          • Hyundai Motors Contact Information: If owners have questions regarding whether their vehicles are impacted by the recall, they can contact Hyundai at 855-371-9460.
          • Recall Information: NHTSA Campaign Number 23V589000. Hyundai Recall Number 248.
          • Input your VIN to see if your vehicle has any open recalls: You can check NHTSA’s website to see whether your vehicle has any open recalls. Simply input your 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website.

Earlier this year, Kia issued a recall for Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid (Kia Niro PHEV) models due to a potential short circuit that could result in engine fires, as announced by the NHTSA on Monday. This recall affects 121,411 Niro hatchbacks produced between 2017 and 2022. Every Kia Niro plug-in hybrid from the model years 2018-2022 is also included in the recall, accounting for 16,504 units or 13.6% of the total.

Problems with the Kira Niro Engine

Contaminants in the fluid can affect the circuit board responsible for communicating with the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. If this circuit board in the hydraulic clutch actuator gets contaminated, it can short-circuit, potentially leading to a fire hazard.

Drivers will be alerted to this issue by the illumination of a HEV warning light in the instrument cluster. Kia has received reports of 10 cases of localized melting of the circuit board but has not recorded any incidents of vehicle fires.

In January of this year, Kia’s North America Safety Office was first alerted to the issue after receiving several incident reports. In one case, the hybrid warning light came on- dealers discovered localized heat damage to the hydraulic clutch actuator connector and harness in the Niro Hybrid. Shortly thereafter, during a preliminary evaluation, another case with similar details emerged, this time involving a Niro Plug-in Hybrid.

What Should I do if I am Experiencing Kia Niro Hybrid Problems?

Kia is strongly advising Niro owners to promptly bring their vehicles to an authorized Kia service center for a thorough inspection. Notifications were sent out to affected drivers by September 26, 2023. Authorized dealers will either replace the actuator or install a new fuse with a modified capacity to reduce the risk of engine fires. All expenses related to this service will be fully covered by Kia.

If you find that your vehicle is included in a recall, here are steps you should take:

            1. Check Your Vehicle: First, verify if your vehicle is subject to the recall. You can do this by checking your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) against the official recall notices provided by the manufacturer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) offers this excellent tool that uses your vehicle’s VIN to check for recalls.
            2. Contact the Manufacturer: Reach out to the vehicle manufacturer’s customer service or recall hotline to confirm the details of the recall, including the reason for the recall and the necessary actions to rectify the issue.
            3. Schedule Repairs: If your Kia is affected, schedule a repair appointment with an authorized service center. The manufacturer typically covers the cost of repairs for recalled vehicles.
            4. Prepare for the Repair: Prior to your appointment, ensure that you bring all necessary documents, such as your vehicle’s registration and proof of ownership, to expedite the repair process.
            5. Complete the Repair: Attend the scheduled repair appointment, where the authorized service center will fix the issue that prompted the recall.
            6. Follow Up: After the repair is complete, follow up with the service center to ensure that all recall-related repairs have been successfully conducted.
            7. Stay Informed: Continue to monitor the manufacturer’s communications for any further updates or instructions related to the recall.

You should take action as soon as you are aware of a recall involving your vehicle.

In September of 2023,  Ford issued a recall due to concerns regarding the brightness and alignment of the front headlights in certain 2023 Ford Edge crossover vehicles. This misalignment raises concerns regarding the hazards of potentially blinding oncoming drivers, in addition to violating federal safety regulations.

To remedy the issue, over 8,500 Ford Edge SUVs are subject to inspection to determine if the front right headlight assemblies require replacement.

According to Ford, the problem stems from the misalignment of the folder assembly with the high beam reflector in the Bi-LED module. This issue was first detected in May of this year when an assembly plant noticed a yellow halo condition on a Ford Edge headlight. After inspections, it was revealed that 4 of 6 of the headlights did not conform to the federal standards of linearity, photometric intensity, or both.

What is Ford’s approach on the recall?

In May and June of 2023, Ford undertook an inquiry into the production records of their supplier and identified a potential issue with right headlights manufactured from Jan 10, 2023, to Jan 17, 2023. Initially, this encompassed 5,445 headlights, a number that was later expanded to 8,523.

In June, the supplier conducted tests on 102 Ford Edge right headlight assemblies from the same production period. Seven of these headlights failed to meet the established standards.

As of August 2023, there have been no reports of warranty claims, filed incidents, accidents, or injuries linked to the Ford Edge headlights.

Recall notifications for affected 2023 Ford Edge owners were scheduled to be sent on October 9, 2023. Owners of the affected vehicles can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 and refer to the recall number 23C26. Dealers will inspect and replace the front right headlight assembly, if necessary, free of charge.

What are signs that my Ford Edge is affected?

              • Affected headlights may seem too bright
              • Affected headlights may have uneven aim
              • Other cars have flashed headlights back at you while in traffic

You may also check if your vehicle was assembled at the Oakville Assembly plant between April 17th, 2023, and May 29th, 2023. Many of the vehicles that were affected were manufactured from this plant. Additionally, you can enter your vehicle identification number on the recall page of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website to see if your vehicle is included.

What steps should I take if I own a Ford Edge?

Recall communications from Ford were scheduled to be mailed out on October 9th, 2023. The Ford reference number for the recall is 23C26. Once received, follow all necessary steps in the notification to ensure the issue is rectified.

If you have still not heard from Ford by the end of October 2023, locate you Ford Edge’s 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), typically found on your vehicle’s dashboard, in your registration documents, or on your insurance paperwork. Next, enter your VIN into the NHTSA recall checker tool to ensure your vehicle is included.

The system will promptly verify if there are any outstanding recalls associated with your Ford Edge. If a recall is displayed, call Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332, reference recall 23C26, and ask for any next steps you should take.

In September of 2023, Nissan found itself in the spotlight due to a recall affecting it’s Nissan Altima and Sentra models. The recall focuses on repairing faulty backup cameras which have become an integral safety feature in modern vehicles.

These cameras provide a clear view of the area behind the vehicle as the driver reverses, helping them spot obstacles, pedestrians, and other vehicles that may not be visible through the rearview or side mirrors. However, as with any technology, backup cameras can experience issues, and in this case, a problem was identified, and a recall issued.

Which Models are Included in the Nissan Backup Camera Recall?

The 2023 Nissan Backup Camera Recall affects over 153,000 vehicles total, including the following models:

                1. 2019 – 2021 Nissan Altima: A widely recognized midsize sedan in the Nissan lineup, known for its comfortable ride and reliable performance.
                2. 2020 – 2021 Nissan Sentra: A compact car renowned for its fuel efficiency and practicality.

Why is my Nissan Altima or Sentra Backup Camera Not Working?

The recall involving the Nissan backup camera problems revolves around faulty wiring within the systems that can become damaged as a result of normal vibration and movement. If this damage happens, the backup cameras can stop displaying images and/or display distorted images.

Backup cameras help drivers in various scenarios, particularly when parking in tight spaces, backing out of driveways, or navigating through crowded areas. A malfunctioning camera can compromise the safety of both the vehicle occupants and pedestrians, making this recall imperative for Nissan and its customers.

Nissan Altima & Sentra Recall Implications

Your Nissan Altima or Sentra is not just a vehicle; it is an investment in your daily life. A malfunctioning backup camera can jeopardize this investment and, more importantly, put lives at risk.

Recalls can be concerning for consumers, as they raise questions about the safety and reliability of the affected vehicles. Nissan plans to begin mailing recall notifications to affected Altima and Sentra owners on October 17, 2023. These notifications include information on the recall, the potential safety risks associated with malfunctioning backup cameras, and instructions on how to proceed to address the issue.

As with any recall, owners are urged to take their vehicles to an authorized dealership for the necessary repairs at no cost. This recall serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing concerns promptly, as it not only ensures the safety of the vehicle’s occupants but also contributes to the overall safety of the road.

What Steps Should I Take if my Nissan Backup Camera is Affected?

Don’t wait to see if your vehicle is part of the recall. Visit the NHTSA website and input your 17-digit VIN to determine if your vehicle is affected. This simple step can provide peace of mind and help you take necessary action promptly.

Owners of affected Nissan Altima and Sentra vehicles are encouraged to schedule an appointment at their local authorized Nissan dealership to get the necessary repairs completed. Nissan dealerships are equipped to replace or repair the malfunctioning backup cameras, ensuring that the vehicles are, once again, equipped with a fully functional safety feature.

If the manufacturer deems that the rear camera needs to be replaced, the repairs will be performed free of charge. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall repair can take approximately 40 minutes to complete.

The Genesis fuel pump recall has garnered significant attention, as thousands of vehicle owners have been affected by associated engine issues. Genesis is recalling approximately 19,000 SUVs and sedans for a faulty fuel pump that can result in loss of engine power.

Safety concerns are paramount in the world of automobiles, and this recall sheds light on a critical issue that has impacted numerous Genesis vehicles.

What is the Cause of the Genesis Fuel Pump Recall?

Hyundai learned of this problem about one year ago when consumers began presenting their Genesis vehicles for warranty claims related to engine stalling and hesitation. Hyundai engineers’ inspection of the fuel pumps revealed interference between the impeller and housing.  It turns out that a certain lot of the fuel pumps may not have been produced with sufficient impeller material thereby leading to their deterioration and malfunction.

The faulty fuel pumps were tied to the Genesis G80, GV80 and GV70 vehicles that were produced between June 2021 and December 2021.

A vehicle’s fuel pump plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery of fuel from the tank to the engine. It is responsible for maintaining the proper fuel pressure and, by extension, the vehicle’s performance, and safety. Any malfunction in the fuel pump can lead to severe consequences.

In affected Genesis vehicles, the fuel pump can deform over time and negatively impact the fuel pump housing. This can result in the fuel pump shutting down thereby restricting gas flow to the engine resulting in loss of engine power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Which Genesis Vehicles are Affected by the Recall?

The Genesis fuel pump recall affects the following Genesis model and model year vehicles:

                  • 2021 – 2022 Genesis G80
                  • 2021 – 2022 Genesis GV80
                  • 2022 Genesis GV70

Genesis’ parent company, Hyundai reported it is aware of hundreds of reports of fuel pump failure. Hyundai has not reported any known injuries or crashes related to the fuel pump defect.

What are the Symptoms of a Genesis Faulty Fuel Pump?

If there is a problem with the fuel pump in a Genesis GV70, GV80, or G80, owners may experience the following symptoms:

                  • Stalling
                  • Engine misfires
                  • Engine hesitating
                  • Engine stumbling
                  • Rough idle
                  • Illumination of the check engine light
                  • Illumination of other malfunction lights in the instrument cluster

                  genesis fuel pump problems

How Can I Address the Genesis Fuel Pump Recall?

Genesis owners are supposed to be notified of the recall by mail around November 10, 2023.  The recall will instruct affected vehicle owners to present their vehicle to a Genesis dealer for recall repair work. The repairs will consist of replacing the fuel pump at no cost to owners.

For more information, Genesis consumers can contact Hyundai customer service at 855-371-9460.

If you own or lease a Genesis and have experienced fuel pump and/or engine related issues, you should contact an authorized Genesis or Hyundai dealership and present your vehicle for repairs to be performed to your vehicle.

What Should I do if I have a Genesis with a Faulty Fuel Pump?

If you own or lease a Genesis vehicle that has experienced issues with the engine and/or fuel pump, present your vehicle to an authorized Genesis or Hyundai dealership for warranty and/or recall repair work.

If your vehicle has been presented repeatedly for the same or similar issues, it might be a lemon and if so, you may be entitled to a refund or replacement under the Lemon Law plus the payment of your legal fees.

If you suspect your vehicle is a lemon, make sure to do the following:

Earlier this year in August 2023, Nissan issued a recall affecting more than 236,000 Sentra sedans produced between 2020 and 2022 due to a defective component that could potentially hinder steering functionality.

In more severe cases, this issue may result in a loss of control for the driver. While some of these vehicles might have previously undergone a recall in 2021 for a similar problem, they now require additional repairs.

The steering defect centers around the vehicle’s tie rod, a component responsible for linking the steering system to the drive wheels. In affected vehicles, the tie rod can readily bend when subjected to significant impact forces, such as colliding with a curb.

This can lead to noticeable vibration and an off-center steering wheel. In the worst-case scenario, if the tie rod fails, it could result in a partial loss of steering control.

Signs Your Nissan Might be Affected

Signs that your Nissan Sentra’s steering system may be affected include:

                    • Difficulty Turning the Key
                    • No-Start Condition
                    • Stalling
                    • Vibration in the Steering Wheel
                    • Intermittent Loss of Lighting and Accessories
                    • Silent Starter Motor
                    • Inconsistent Electrical Issues
                    • Hotter or Colder Temperatures Affect Operation

If you notice any of these signs, we recommend having your Nissan vehicle inspected as soon as possible.

                    nissan sentra tie rod problems

How Can I Address the Nissan Sentra Tie Rod Issue?

If you own a 2020 to 2022 Nissan sedan and are experiencing steering issues such as the Nissan Sentra steering wheel vibration problem, you should contact a Nissan dealer to arrange for recall repairs. Dealerships are set to replace both the left and right tie rods with newly designed parts once they become available, a process expected to start sometime this winter season.

During this period, owners are encouraged to bring their vehicles to authorized dealerships for inspection. Any identified damage, including broken or bent tie rods, will be promptly replaced, and both the inspection and replacement procedures will be carried out at no cost to affected drivers.

Owners who wish to inquire further about this recall or schedule their vehicle for inspection and repair can contact Nissan directly at 800-867-7669. For reference purposes, the NHTSA has assigned the recall campaign number 23V581.

Additionally, Nissan has designated this recall as R23B3. Importantly, this recall supersedes and extends the scope of recall number 21V461 from 2021. If your vehicle has previously undergone repairs under the 21V461 recall, it will still require the new repair outlined in this updated campaign.

How Can I Check for Open Recalls on my Nissan Sentra?

To determine if your Nissan Sentra has any open recalls, follow these four steps:

                    1. Start by visiting the official website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
                    2. Locate your car’s 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). You can usually find it on your vehicle’s dashboard, registration, or insurance documents.
                    3. On the NHTSA website, you’ll find a dedicated tool where you can enter your VIN. The system will instantly check if there are any open recalls associated with your Nissan Sentra. If no recalls appear, it indicates that your vehicle currently does not have any open recalls.
                    4. Keep in mind that recalls can be announced regularly. To stay informed about any future recall notifications related to your vehicle, it’s advisable to periodically revisit the NHTSA’s website.

Given the frequency of recall announcements by automakers, it is advisable to periodically revisit the NHTSA’s website to stay informed about any future recall notifications related to your vehicle.

In documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Nissan acknowledges having received 91 reports of tie rods breaking or bending and five associated accidents. Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries resulting from this issue.

                    What Should I Do Next?

Today’s cars are intricate systems with numerous interconnected components, and manufacturing errors can occasionally disrupt their operation. To ensure your safety and the continued performance of your vehicle, make it a priority to check if your 2020-2022 Sentra has been subject to any recalls related to manufacturing defects.

To stay informed, keep a watchful eye on communications from Nissan, the manufacturer, and the NHTSA. In the case of the Sentra Tie Rod recall, prompt action and staying informed can help you maintain both the safety and reliability of your Nissan vehicle.

If you experience persistent issues with a Sentra vehicle that has not been recalled, you may want to explore Lemon Law help. Jeep has initiated a recall for over 160,000 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Cherokee vehicles due to a potential issue with the rearview camera not displaying an image when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

The recall was announced on August 14th by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and impacts a range of 2021-2024 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. Earlier this year, the manufacturer issued another Jeep recall affecting the same models due to potential airbag deployment issues that could heighten the risk of injury during a collision.

What causes the Jeep Backup Camera Issue?

The manufacturer officially notified NHTSA, that the vehicles are equipped with a central vision processing/park assist module (CVPAM) that contains software which, under specific circumstances, might obstruct the transmission of the camera signal to the media screen.

Upon investigation, engineers traced the defect to a component supplied by Robert Bosch, which results in a camera display issue due to faulty software. The image display issue violates the federal safety standards regarding rear visibility. FCA US LLC’s Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance division became aware of a potential concern regarding the rearview camera’s functionality, promoting an engineering evaluation. However, for unknown reasons, the manufacturer did not officially recognize the issue till June 21.

How do I know if my vehicle is included in the Jeep Backup Camera Recall?

Does the manufacturer have a solution for the issue?

According to the recall information, authorized Jeep dealers will provide a complimentary software update for the Central Vision Park Assist module in affected models.

FCA began sending out recall notifications for affected Jeep owners on October 3, 2023. For inquiries or concerns regarding the recall, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wagoneer drivers can contact the following number: 800-853-1403, referencing recall 56A.

What should I do if my Jeep Rear View Camera is not working?

If you have concerns about the functionality of your Jeep Rearview Camera, we suggest following these steps:

                      • Verify for Recalls: Go to the official Jeep website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website. Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to search for any pending recalls concerning your vehicle’s camera system.
